I don’t like writing about myself in the third person, although oddly enough I do love talking that way. I guess it’s just part of my paradoxical nature. If you stick with me, you’ll start to notice my weirdness, my utter randomness. It’s not made up, it’s just messed up.
I’m from Glasgow, Scotland and have been living in Stornoway, the Isle of Lewis for around a year and a half now. When asked by Editors for an extended Bio, I have said that I’m experiencing life in the Outer Hebrides, but I sometimes wonder if I’m enduring it. Character building, Kate, character building. I’m being flippant here, this has been a fruitful experience so far. If you check out the Gallery of Randomness, you will see a few of the pics I’ve added of Lewis, particularly the mind boggling, ferocious Butt of Lewis.
As for my writing… well, let’s just say I’m gearing myself up to chase the dream. I’ve got a novel written (ahem) and loads and loads of flash pieces/short stories, many of which originated at the wonderful SMYL http://www.showmeyourlits.com/ where I have the good fortune to write with some wonderfully talented and encouraging writers. I like to experiment with different genres – with the exception of poetry because I totally suck at it – working on some children’s lit right now and a drama piece. We’ll see how they go.
Aside from that, I drink lots of tea, listen to lots of loud music and I love to laugh at all the craziness that seems to just happen all the time…
I hope you enjoy the site. Please feel free to leave a comment etc.
Cheers,
Kate

Hi Kate, lovely to meet you. I was born in Aberfeldy, lived for a short while on the Isle of Skye and now live in Australia.
April 4th, 2012 at 13:58
Hey Kate – that is really cool!
Have never been to Skye, which is ridiculous, given how close it is to me now! Going to travel back up to Lewis in the summer via Skye and Harris, looking forward to that. Do you enjoy living in Australia?

Stick to those soft foods right now – swap your apples for peaches or something sensible until your better! Okay, motherly rant over!
April 22nd, 2012 at 22:31
I’ve actually been eating both..lol..I cut the skin off my apples and then “shave” the apple..and it’s really easy to eat then..
No way I’m giving THOSE up! Funny enough..my dad said the same thing about stopping eating them..but everyone knows it’s like no possible..lol
