What do you think of the mini top-hat I made for my friend?

Got a creative challenge you’d like to present me with? It’s a great way to de-stress!

Good job, I guess you just needed to get your mind off things
February 5th, 2013 at 17:55
Thanks, Maggie. I like a creative distraction!

that is cool you should attach it to a head band so she can wear it as a fascinator hmmmm crafty challenge?????????????? I shall think upon it lol

Thanks, Paula. It is going on a head band. I haven’t attached it yet because she still needs to choose which side it should go on, lol.
I’d love a crafty challenge!

Would you consider making a Cyril and/or Willie pencil topper? Failing that – a Cyril or Willie draught excluder. The draught coming through my door in the gale tonight is pretty brisk!

Moira, you are always full of great ideas!
I’m not sure how I would make the toppers – what materials would you suggest? When I made the figures I used FIMO. As for draught excluder, that’s a great idea! I could make one for my friend who’s just had a MASSIVE heating bill!

I’m serious – I would happily pay for a Cyril or Willy draught excluder. Would help with those wedding bills too
FIMO sounds good for pencil toppers.

Smart thinking and thank you, as always, for the encouragement!
Any chance you might be around for a cuppa maybe on Friday morning?

okay I know you wanted to escape the wedding with your craftiness but I think you will love this idea – A Wedding Time Capsule – it is not just about the actual wedding itself first you obviously have to decorate a lovely box to hold all the bits for the capsule – then the things to go in it I found this blog which has some great ideas such as “Another is to ask your wedding party and close friends to compose short letters to you. Give them each envelopes, and instruct them to tell you on the outside when it’s time to open the envelope. Some will simply say “fifth anniversary,” “10th anniversary,” or “when your first child is born.” Others will get more creative — and you’ll probably find it’s terrific fun to stretch out the time capsule concept in this inventive, unpredictable way.”

This is a super cool idea! Why thank you very, very much! I was already planning on making a sort of scrap book, but the capsule idea is really, really cool!
Seriously, this is fantastic and much appreciated! Thank you, Paula! I can always rely on you to suggest something thoughtful and lovely!

I think the wedding time capsule is a fabulous idea! That way, you’re doing something that you know you’ll keep with you. Love the little hat.

Thank you – it was fun, but frustrating to make! Ha!
I am loving the wedding planning suggestion as well!!!
Definitely a fun and calming distraction!

How topping!
February 5th, 2013 at 20:26
Pretty cool, eh?
Just going to check out your new blog!

Love the hat!! I think you should “make” a couple of them for Willy and Cyrus to wear. I’m sure they would like to try them out.
(You are sooo creative, Kate!!)

Thank you very, very much!
Well Willy has been known to wear Top-Hats in some toons… I wonder if I could fashion a teeny one for him!
February 5th, 2013 at 21:07
Don’t you have a wedding you need to plan?
February 6th, 2013 at 10:23
Oh believe me, I am planning!
February 6th, 2013 at 01:44
The time capsule sounds like a great idea! And the hats for Willy and Cyril. Is there a black-tie event they could go to?
February 6th, 2013 at 10:23
Lol, I think I could find a black tie event for them in about a month!
Thank you – I love the idea as well!

Beautiful. Is it felted? My wife is beading, but she never tried felting. Great work. Congratulations.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:33
That’s lovely of you to have said! Thanks! Watch this space, you’ll see better ones from me soon! It is felt that I used and it’s ridiculously easy, just a little bit fiddly! What is your wife beading? I’ll bet she’s making pretty things but that it probably requires patience.
February 6th, 2013 at 10:40
Thank You answering. I appreciate all handmade works. You are right, beading needs patience.

Beads as hobby.
Have a wonderful day!

You are very welcome!
Thanks for sharing these – they are fantastic! There’s no way I can do anything as intricate as that! Wow, would love to know how to do it!
If she doesn’t already sell her work, she should definitely start!
You have a great day too!
