I’ve been reading blogs that focus on listing things.
I love lists. I really love them. I don’t know why. They are just fun.
Right now, as I contemplate all of the lists I like to make (Bands I’ve seen; bands I’ve liked to see; places I’ve kissed Tony (geographically speaking); CDs and films I own… blah blah,)I can hear my Mum counting in the other room as she works her way through the people who have responded to wedding invitations…
Do you like to make lists? Do they give you a sense of hope, productivity, achievement? Or do they just drive you up the wall?

I am a list lover as well! It gives me motivation, helps me a great deal since I have a bad short term memory, I need a routine or schedule and a list provides some order and structure! Lists are great! Have a great weekend Mskatykins!

Thanks, Carla! I love reading your lists!

If it’s not on my list, it doesn’t get done!

Ha! That sounds like a good get out clause!

List are great. Particularly to-do lists. But they don’t respond to the normal rules of physics: when you cross off an item, it’s quite likely that several more will appear. A bit like the mythological Hydra: chop off one head, and several more appear.

Ha – love it! I know exactly what you mean too! I’m guilty of adding a few easy things that I know I’ll be able to get done without any hassle. Makes you feel better about your progress!

I don’t make them at all. I know others do and if I get “caught” with a list maker be it professionally or in a relationship I have to tell them not to share it with me or give away anything on the list or they’ll lose me. My learning and doing style is such they don’t work well. That being said if there’s a large endeavor I need to accomplish I will know all the details, but have to start from square one and move steadily ahead and build up steam before ticking things off. I’ve been thoughtful about the dynamic of it and it works for me. But please please don’t pull out a pencil!

Lol! Well it looks like you’ve got a system that definitely works for you, and I’d say that’s very important! I don’t make lists for everything as I simply don’t have the discipline to follow them. They are also very restrictive!

So, OK. First, I get asked if I’d like to submit a piece to the journal you’re working on with Amy – very cool. Then, I find out you love System of a Down. Cool point two. *Then*, I find out we use the same blog theme. I feel that we are connected on some cosmic level. In a non-creepy way.
Oh and yes to lists.

Lol – I think you’re right, definitely got a good vibe going on there! I LOVE SoaD – but then you know that, because I got ridiculously excited when we first spoke about it! Nice to hear from you and it was lovely to meet you the other night!

Lists have always been my thing. Can’t get through hecticism without them. And they are totally necessary when raising a family. Don’t know how anyone cannot make lists!

I couldn’t function without lists.
My son would never get anything done if he didn’t have a list to check off complete items.
I <3 lists.

Ha ha! Lists do rock! Don’t they? I struggle to get lots of things on a list done, but it makes me feel better having one!

I love lists! As you know, I’ve done several lists on my blog. In my notebook of potential ideas for future blog posts, I have a list of potential lists I can do. With my to-do list, I sometimes write things on it after I’ve done them, just so I have things to cross off. Yep, I love lists!

I do that with lists too! It makes you feel better – and you should still get the credit for what you’ve already done! (I’m preaching to the converted, eh?
) Lists are fun!

My lists have lists!

Your lists sound funky!

I do love lists! I like making to do lists and scratch things off as I do them. Definitely makes me feel good. I have a running list of books I’ve read and I like to go back and see if I remember all of them from years ago. I like your idea of places you’ve kissed. I’ll have to try that one for me and Brian
