Wow. Life is busy. I thought I’d be all super keen and straight in there with a Blog stats update/Happy New Year message but here we are, eight days in to 2013 and I’ve had nothing to show for the full first week of the new year!
Believe me, I have been busy. Wedding. Uni. Wedding. Submitting two projects for uni. Painting. Fighting. Wedding. Bereavement. All sorts of craziness has been going on. I guess it’s just a reminder of how full-on life can be.
So, for today’s first post of the new year, I thought I would say hello, how are you and tell you that I’m really looking forward to catching up on your posts. I also thought I’d share some of my random art work with you as previously promised!
Is 2013 treating you well so far?

Thanks! It’s a bit zany!

Happy New Year Ms Katykins! Sounds full on so far, as you say. I hope you have a great year, and share some more art with us! We’ve had a relaxed start to 2013 and are planning lots of little projects to keep us amused. My first: buying an annual season ticket to the local pool, to make sure I go swimming more often.

Happy New Year Sophie!
I fully approve of the swimming pool plan, good for you! I LOVE swimming, it’s a great way to relax (and exercise!). I’m hoping that 2013 will calm down a bit for me, or that I develop an amazing ability to get everything I need to do done quickly and to a high standard.

So far so good, love your bright and bold art!

Cheers, Pete! I like to doodle and I just figured – I could paint doodle instead!

Your art tells me that you are, at your core, an optimist who believes in a bright tomorrow!

Thanks, Fay! I thought it might tell you I was crazy!
I definitely prefer your interpretation.

The days do go by fast, don’t they…
I like your artwork

Extremely fast! Too, too fast for my liking… sometimes I guess it’s important to pause and take it all in.
Thanks!

Happy New Year! Time goes so fast, too fast. I haven’t posted much lately either but I’m looking forward to snapping new pictures and having a lot of fun this year. Happy to see your post and I love your artwork, especially the stars and hearts. Thanks for sharing and wishing you the very best

Thanks Trish, I’m sending you good vibes for the new year too! I love your cat, he’s very elegant looking. Can’t wait to see what new snapshots inspire you this year. (Ooh, I keep forgetting to take my camera to uni to capture a picture of that door… sorry, this was a note-to-self!).

Wow! What a whirlwind of creativity!

Thanks, Morag.
They were done a few years back now, maybe in 2008 or there abouts? A number of them were done as presents.

Happy New Year! I hope you get some breathers and a chance to enjoy it!
January 13th, 2013 at 20:28
Thanks, JM! New Year just flew by for me. I’ve had no time to come on and just ‘do’ things online, you know? Crazy…!
January 9th, 2013 at 00:43
Oh I love your art Katy. It’s explosively fun!
I especially like the last one!
January 13th, 2013 at 20:32
Thanks Linda!
It means a lot that you like it, you are so wonderfully creative!

Nice art!! And 2013 has been a total trip so far – I caught the plague, apparently I was dating someone and wasn’t even aware and now we aren’t dating but we’re totally cool, I’ve gotten insane compliments left and right from friends to strangers and I’ve been so busy I barely know what day it is. And also I have been more creatively inspired in the past 10 days than possibly ever before. I am definitely going to have to drink more coffee to keep up with this year.

Thank you very, very much! This is such a fabulous comment, your life seems like a whirlwind right now! I hope that 2013 continues to feed your creative spark! Bring it on!
